A Day In Our Area

Pendon is normally open only in the afternoon. Ever wonder what to do with a whole day? How about visiting some of our neighbours?

Notcutts Garden Centre

Notcutts is the largest garden centre in our area and is open every day of the week. It offers an enormous range of plants, tools and garden furniture and is enhanced by the existence of the Mattocks rose fields, a part of the same property. It also offers morning coffee and lunch at its excellent and attractive cafeteria. Just 3.2 miles from the museum, it's on the B4015, just west of the A423 roundabout in the village of Nuneham Courtenay.

Didcot Railway Centre

If trains are your thing, Didcot Railway Centre just three miles from the museum, is not to be missed. Open every day of the week, with steaming on Wednesdays and weekends, the collection of partially and fully restored steam trains is one of the finest in the world. Spend the morning at Didcot, grab lunch at the Railway Centre, and visit Pendon in the afternoon.

The Plough 01865 407738

The closest pub to Pendon is the Plough, just at the turning for the museum and offers excellent meals in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Tell them that you are going to Pendon after your lunch and you'll be welcome to leave your car there while you explore the museum.
